No Valet Parking
I love these pics. I wish i had roamed around the myriad of different bikes back then, and been able to appreciate what I was seeing. There were survivors from several kick ass eras, as well as some awesome modern (for the mid-80s) customs.
There's a couple of these with typical parking situations, and the rest are probably for a run or rally. There was usually no less than 4 or 5 bikes out front at any time, which would usually draw in others pretty quick. I'm thinking that Cyclone was the only Harley (or rather, "American motorcycle") place within 50 miles.
This had to scare the shit out of the Rowan County Public Library patrons.

Bikes That Travel
Wednesday, June 16, 2010
Jeez, it's already been over a week!
Been a little bit of a crazy couple of weeks. I'm seriously gonna start updating more starting next week.
The old man, looking rowdy at the Metrolina Bike Swap, probably '86. He's about to tear into a hot dog, which automatically prompts a detailed description of a Real Kosher Beef Chicago Hot Dog. Every time.
Can't really see the furniture store anymore.
"Why do you have to use a cane?"
"Well, back in '86, I had this kick ass little XLCH...SWEET little bike, until one day...."
Tate and Dano looking for something that ISN'T LOST. IT'S RIGHT HERE SOMEWHERE.

Couple of bike pics
My Dad's eggplant FL..he loves those land yachts!
I don't know this guy's name, but I like his perfect taste in shovels.
Another pic of Tate's wicked stroked Panhead (sorry for the poor quality).
My dad and his Sunburst Orange FLH (don't try to drag me any deeper into the alphabet soup). It was beautiful at any distance, from any angle.

Show Bikes
This is indoors at the Metrolina Fairgrounds, probably '85 or '86.
This is another one from the Metrolina Fairgrounds.
That's Lanny on the right, dunno the other two from here. Cherokee?
Nice Shovel
Recognize the face and the bike, but can't remember his name at all.
Where "Bling" came from.
I'm no genius, but I'd say that Lanny and Kathy Edwards won something. If I remember right, they got a few best in shows...they had show pipes that were anodized red on the inside!
That's most definitely my dad's arm giving them the thumbs up!
